How do I get in touch with marXact?

Can I visit the offices of marXact?

Working with a GNSS receiver

What is a GNSS receiver?
A GNSS receiver is a device which is capable of receiving GNSS signals in order to determine your (exact) location. GNSS receivers come in all kind of shapes and sizes and different accuracies. In general, GNSS receivers are divided in three classes; recreational, mapping and survey grade receivers. The UNI-GR1 is a so called survey grade GNSS receiver, which means it can achieve centimeter accuracy.
I am really new to all this, where should I start?
Obviously, our suggestion would be to start by ordering the UNI-GR1 RTK GNSS receiver here. However, in case you don't know much about the subject yet, it is wise to take a look here, on Navipedia, which is the wikipedia of GNSS. It sounds complicated, can I even work with the UNI?
Yes you can! The technology behind the exact positioning indeed sounds complicated, however, marXact aims to make the use of the UNI accessible to everyone that's willing to get their exact location. Yes, you might have to do some reading of the manuals and maybe some research on your exact application; but in the end everyone should be able to work with the UNI. And don't worry, we are here to help you with your specific questions.
What does GNSS mean?
GNSS stands for Global Navigation Satellite System, which is a constellation of satellites orbiting over the earth surface, sending you signals so you can determine your own location. Well known constellations are GPS, Galileo, Glonass and Beidou. These constellations, all supported by the UNI, are all global navigation satellite systems.
What does RTK mean?
RTK stands for Real Time Kinematics and is a differential GNSS Technique which the UNI supports in order to achieve centimeter accuracy. In summary, using this technique the UNI as a rover receives a correction signal from another UNI acting as a base station or a correction provider in order to resolve the main errors of the rover and to get a centimeter accurate fix.
What does DGPS mean?
DGPS or more generally speaking, DGNSS, is a classical differential technique enhancing the standard GNSS accuracy to the range of 1 meter accurate. The UNI-GR1 supports this technique to improve accuracy.
How do I get CM accuracy?
In order to get centimeter accuracy with the UNI-GR1, you need to make use of the RTK technique for on the go centimeter accuracy or post processing for centimeter accuracy at a later stage. Both methods are supported by the UNI.

How can the UNI be cheaper than most GNSS receivers?

marXact is a young Dutch startup, founded to develop and produce universal and cost efficient GNSS Receivers with high accuracy. It’s marXact’s intent to make high accuracy positioning more affordable for a broad range of users, without any loss of quality. For that reason we focused on cutting out what you don't necessarily need, make use of new technology and outsource causes of large overhead cost by using the strength of our partners. Therefore we do not have a huge dealer network, neither do we send our sales team across the world for one device demonstrations or do we have multiple side products in stock. But… we do offer you a low priced, high-quality universal GNSS receiver. That’s it!
Can I get a demonstration of the UNI before buying it?
Yes you can! Throughout the year we organize demonstration days where everybody is welcome to try out the UNI-GR1. Keep an eye out on our news section for more information on the dates and join us! Is the UNI a base station and a rover?
Yes, the UNI can be configured as base station or as a rover, no problem!
Does the UNI come with mapping & surveying software?
As part of our philosophy, marXact focuses on the core, which at first is bringing you an highly universal GNSS device at low cost which enables you to make use of very advanced (free) software and hardware out there. There is already so much good stuff out there, why force you to make use of our software? For example, you can easily get going with mapitGIS and don't worry, the UNI does come with the basics you need to get started!
Does the UNI work indoors?
You might get a signal indoors, but it's unlikely that this is an accurate positioning fix. Since GNSS positioning preferably requires a clear line of sight to satellites in order to work well, it is not recommended to use this technique indoors. However, the UNI is equipped with advanced techniques using inertial measurement units to augment the signal in case of a temporary loss of signal in challenging environments.
Does the UNI work with other GNSS / RTK devices?
Yes! Since the UNI-GR1 makes use of general formats such as RINEX and RTCM 2.x/3.x, and a wide variety of connection methods such as mobile data, wifi, bluetooth, long range radio, serial and more; the UNI is compatible to work with many other GNSS / RTK devices and networks out there.
How do I achieve centimeter accuracy with the UNI?
In order to get centimeter accuracy with the UNI-GR1, you need to make use of the RTK technique for on the go centimeter accuracy or post processing for centimeter accuracy at a later stage. Both methods are supported by the UNI.
Will I get CM accuracy on the go with one UNI only?
Yes you can get centimeter accuracy on the go with just one UNI, however, in that case you need to make use of a RTK correction provider. In case time is not of the essence, you can get achieve CM accuracy afterwards by using post processing.
What is the maximum distance between a UNI rover and a UNI base station?
Depending your connection method between the UNI rover and UNI base, the maximum distance goes up to 20km, where accuracy increases when the distance between rover and base decreases.
How many rovers can be connected to a UNI base station?
There is no limitation to the amount of rovers connected to a UNI acting as a base station.
Will I get automated updates?
Yes you will, when you are connected to the internet and are logged in to your UNI with an active UNI-Cloud account, you will receive automated updates.

Orders & Payments

When will I receive my pre-ordered UNI?
This depends on the moment you ordered your UNI. We aim to have all UNI's, which are pre-ordered before Q4'18, delivered in Q1 '19. After your order is placed, we will keep you updated per e-mail on your personal delivery status, and in general through our news section.
Can I pre-order an UNI-GR1 without prepayment?
No, we are sorry but you can't. As part of our philosophy of making high accuracy positioning more affordable for a broad range of users, we aim to keep our cost low. Keeping cost low includes cutting on debt and risk management, for that reason we require all orders to be prepaid before being processed and dispatched.
What are the Payment methods ?
The following payment methods are supported on our website;

In case your favorite payment method is not supported, please let us know here and we'll make it work. Or, alternatively,  sign-up for a PayPal account, PayPal accepts most (local) payment methods used and we accept PayPal!
Is it safe to pay using these payment methods?
Yes it is, since it is our highest priority to keep your payment information safe and we don't want to store any of your private payment details such as credit card numbers, we work together with the most safe and transparent parties out there.

For Credit Card, iDeal, Bancontact, SOFORT and Giropay users we make use of the services of payment provider Stripe. Stripe takes safety very seriously and exceeds most stringent security standards. All transactions made through Stripe are SSL protected, all data is encrypted and Stripe has received the PCI Service Provider Level 1 which is the highest grade of payment processing security. For PayPal payments, we work straight with PayPal, who has high standards on security which can be found here and we would like to quite their words on safety; Yes, we keep all your information safe. When you send a payment using PayPal, the recipient won't receive sensitive financial information like your credit card or bank account number. This way, you don't have to worry about paying people you don't know. Additionally, when you pay with PayPal on any website PayPal Purchase Protection covers you if you have a problem. If an item doesn’t arrive or is significantly not as described we will help you to get a full refund.

In case you don't want to make use of online payments handled through our online store, you can always choose to pay by making a bank transfer.
Can I pay my purchase manually through my personal bank account?
Yes you can! On check-out, select the direct bank transfer option. When you have placed the order, we will send you an invoice and the details for a bank transfer per email. Once we have received your payment, we will process your order.
How do I know you have received my order?
Check your inbox! In case we have received your order, you've got (e)mail! If not, please check your spambox, or email might have ended up there. If it's not there either, please contact us by filling out the form on the bottom of this page, we will aim to get back to you within 48 hours on working days.
I did not receive a confirmation email?
In case you didn't receive a confirmation e-mail a few minutes after your purchase, please check your spambox. It is possible that your email provider marks our emails as spam. If this is not the case, it might be that you made a typing error in your e-mail address or maybe something went wrong on our end. In those instances, please contact us by filling out the form on the bottom of this page, we will aim to get back to you within 48 hours on working days.
How do I cancel my order, return or exchange my product(s)?
Please contact our support team by filling out the form on the bottom of this page, mentioning your order number and the reason of cancellation, return or exchange of your product. We will aim to get back to you within 48 hours on working days. Returns, exchanges and cancellations are handled according to marXact's terms & conditions.
How long will it take to receive my refund?
After receiving your return shipment, we will initiate your refund as soon as possible. Depending on your payment method we aim to have your money back in your account withing 1-2 weeks upon receiving your return shipment.
What is included when I order the UNI-GR1?
When you order one UNI-GR1, your package will include the following items;

Shipments

Do you ship internationally?
Yes we do! The UNI is shipped internationally to all countries where the use of 868MHz radios is not restricted. UNI's with another MHz long range radio will be available at a later stage, please keep an eye out on the news section or send us a message through the contact from at the bottom of this page for more information.

When will my order be dispatched?
At the moment the UNI-GR1 is in stock and we have received your payment, your order will be dispatched the next working day.
Can I order online and pick up at your offices?
If you want, you can make an appointment to pick up your order in our offices in Holland. Please let us know by filling out our office address as shipping address during check out and contact us through the form on the bottom of this page.
How long will it take before I receive my order?
This depends on the moment you ordered your UNI. We aim to have all UNI's, which are pre-ordered before Q4 '18, delivered in Q1 '19. After your order is placed, we will keep you updated per e-mail on your personal delivery status, and in general through our news section.
Can I send my order to two addresses?
No, we do not offer an option to deliver at two addresses. We would advise you to make separate orders for separate shipping locations.
Can I receive my order the next day?
Depending stock, location and the shipping method you select, you can receive the order the next day in case your order is placed before noon. Please follow the information in the check-out process for the exact details.
Do I need to sign for delivery?
Yes, all goods shipped by marXact need a signature upon delivery.
Is everything in stock?
At this moment, since the UNI-GR1 is in production, we don't have UNI's in stock. In case you wish to have your UNI as fast as possible, we encourage you to pre-order to make sure you are one of the first to receive the UNI when we start delivering. Starting the end of the year we aim to deliver from stock.

Why do I need to register for an account when I make a purchase?
Even though the UNI-GR1 is cheaper than alike GNSS receivers, it is still a high-value product. For that reason we want to make sure you can follow your order status on our website, which you can with an account on our website.
What does marXact do with my account information?
We use your account information to be able to support you in case you need support, apart from that it is used for billing and shipping. For more information, please see our privacy statement.
Can I change my details in my account?
Yes you can, after logging in you can change your account details and addresses by going to my account -> account details and/or addresses.
