Last weeks we have not been sleeping in the areas of software development and hard work has been done on the newest versions of the UNI-Cloud and UNI-Connect software, known to us as the Columbus release which besides huge performance improvements under the hood also comes with cool new features!
We have done a lot of work on the front and back-end of the UNI-Cloud, which makes sure the UNI-GR1 does not only update every few seconds through the UNI-Cloud, but literally real-time! Our servers already received the data real-time from the UNI and with implementing web sockets it’s now also visible in the UNI-Connect and UNI-Cloud software. We even made sure you can implement web sockets in your own software with the UNI-Cloud API!
Do you want to prevent users amending UNI-Connect settings themselves? Then we have a solution for you! Unique in the field of GNSS receivers we are introducing tags! Simple tags at credit card format which you can link to a user. And, if you link profiles containing the UNI’s settings for a specific project or device to this tag, the user only needs to hold the tag against the UNI-GR1 and the settings are automatically loaded in to the device.
RTK Fix in LED-ring
This is the function we are most proud of, visualising the RTK Fix on the LED Ring! And we are not proud because it’s simply very convenient to quickly see if you have an RTK Fix, we are mostly proud because this new function was an idea of one of our clients! Our client came with the suggestion that it would be very easy to see the RTK Fix more clearly and besides of adjusting this in our software, we introduced a new function which we like to share with everyone! So from now on, you can use the LED-ring as a fix indicator besides the levelling function, the work light and the safety light. Do you have a suggestion of your own? Let us know!
We keep on updating!
Besides these new cool features we have performed countless small tweaks under the hood which not only make the UNI it self faster, it also takes care of rolling out future updates more easy and with a higher frequency! This way we make sure that we introduce many more new features and make it easier for you to stay up to date!
Tutorials, knowledgebase & simple survey tool
Having launched Columbus, we will continue developing a simple survey tool in UNI-Connect, making it possible ot use any device with a browser to measure a point, store it and share it directly through the UNI-Cloud!
Besides that we are working hard on our knowledge base which will be filled with anything about the UNI, the Cloud, troubleshooting, tutorial videos and are we ready to launch a huge GNSS update. In the next few weeks we will release an update which allows all UNI’s to make use of more Galileo and Beidou satellites, making it easier and faster to get a fix in tough environments! The UNI on our roof which you can track through the UNI-Cloud demo is already running this new update in beta and the results look promising! Are you ready to receive 48 satellites?
Stay tuned en see you the 30th!
